Product reliability

SolarEdge products and components are subject to rigorous testing and have been evaluated in aging chambers. Each power optimizer has a 25-year warranty and each inverter has a 12-year warranty. In both cases, it is possible to extend the warranty. The reliability strategy includes the proprietary use of integrated circuits (ASIC).

Maximum inverter efficiency

As a leader in the global production of inverters, SolarEdge believes that the proper selection of an inverter is extremely important from the point of view of the long-term profitability of operating a photovoltaic installation. Proper selection allows you to maximize energy production and reduce operating costs. Although the inverter constitutes only 10% of the cost of the entire photovoltaic system, it manages 100% of the entire energy production of this system, affecting 20% of the system maintenance costs.

With SolarEdge, each module operates at maximum efficiency at all times, ensuring greater energy yield from the entire system. Thanks to the fact that each module is monitored individually, a PV system based on SolarEdge inverters produces 2-10% more energy than a standard system.

Possibility of using SolarEdge products in agriculture

All SolarEdge products are suitable for use in agricultural areas – they are certified to be resistant to ammonia. Among the extended possibilities of managing a PV installation operating on SolarEdge components, compared to standard products, the ability to check the status of the entire system on mobile devices (iOS or Android) is particularly important.

Unique safety certificates

The SolarEdge system provides the highest safety in the event of both electric shock and fire. SafeDC™ is a built-in module-level safety feature that minimizes the risk of electric shock. SolarEdge SafeDC™ is certified in Europe as a DC disconnector in accordance with the IEC/EN 60947-1 and IEC/EN 60947-3 directives and the VDE AR 2100-712 and OVE R-11-1 safety standards.

SolarEdge inverters also have built-in protection designed to mitigate the effects of certain arc flashes that may pose a fire risk, in compliance with the UL1699B arc detection standard. There is currently no comparable arc detection standard in the EU. The SolarEdge security solution also meets the technical requirements of FM Global DS 1-15 v.
